No surprise here: I love my new schedule. This past Friday was my first Friday off, and I was so happy that I couldn't help grinning as I drove from errand to errand.
I got an incredible amount done, too. First, I may as well confess, I took myself out for breakfast to celebrate. Then I went to the credit union, Target, the drugstore, the recycling center, and the grocery store. (Shopping at the grocery store with the Kosher Marketplace at 1:30 pm on a winter Friday was not, perhaps, my best idea. Nevertheless, I made it out with all my groceries and my sanity pretty much intact. Er, as intact as it ever is.) I picked J up in time for candle-lighting, and we had a peaceful Shabbat dinner followed by a nice long evening of relaxing and hanging out together. Wonderful!
Consequentially, I woke up Shabbat morning feeling happy. We went to synagogue, caught up with friends at kiddush, and then went home and played a board game. One of J's friends invited him over, and I got to read in my quiet house for a while.
Sunday night and I wasn' t exhausted from trying to do everything Sunday afternoon, so I made dinner and folded some laundry and went to bed at a decent hour without feeling like I wanted to stay up late to wring some leisure time out of my weekend.
It seems too good to be true that I get to do it again this week. Is this really happening?
That sounds blissful. Good for you!
